Woody Guthrie pasó veintisiete años en la ciudad de Nueva York, donde compuso unas seiscientas canciones. Ahora, el audio-libro “My Name Is New York”, narrado, escrito y producido por su hija Nora, recorre los principales lugares donde Guthrie vivió y trabajó, como la casa de la calle 43, donde compuso ‘This Land Is Your Land’ o la casa de Coney Island donde pasó sus últimos años, hasta su muerte en 1967.
Los dos primeros CDs recogen la narración de Nora Guthrie y los testimonios de músicos como Pete Seeger, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Sonny Terry y Bess Lomax Hawes, de la primera mujer de Guthrie, Mary Guthrie, de Bob Dylan, la segunda mujer de Woody, Marjorie Guthrie, y de sus hijos, Arlo y Nora Guthrie. Un tercer CD contiene algunos de los clásicos de Woody Guthrie, algunas grabaciones inéditas y versiones de músicos actuales. Woody Guthrie Publications editará “My Name Is New York” el 23 de septiembre.
