Chris Bell, cantante y guitarrista de Big Star, dejó la banda en 1972. Y en 1978, antes de morir en un accidente de tráfico ese mismo año, publicó su único single en solitario, “I am the Cosmos”. Posteriormente, en 1992, Rykodisc recopiló diverso material inédito de Bell junto a su único single en el álbum I Am the Cosmos.
El 28 de septiembre, Rhino pondrá a la venta una “Deluxe Edition” del álbum I Am the Cosmos, en un doble CD. El primer disco contiene el álbum de 1992; mientras que el segundo reúne material inédito, grabaciones del primer grupo de Beell, Icewater, y colaboraciones con los músicos de Memphis Sykes y Nancy Bryan.
