Buck Owens, uno de los creadores del Sonido Bakersfield junto a Merle Haggard, es especialmente recordado por sus grabaciones para Capitol. Pero antes, en la primera mitad de los cincuenta, grabó para sellos como Pep, Chesterfield y La Brea. Rockbeat Records ha recuperado aquellas primerizas grabaciones y las publicará el 27 de septiembre en el álbum “Bound for Bakersfield 1953-1956: The Complete Pre-Capitol Collection”. Todas estas grabaciones fueron realizadas por Owens antes de formar sus Buckaroos; y antes de incorporar la Telecaster y los ritmos del rock, señas de identidad de su estilo y del Sonido Bakersfield.
