Ronald Bell, miembro fundador de Kool & the Gang, murió ayer, 9 de septiembre, a los 68, en su casa en las Islas Vírgenes Estadounidenses.
Bell fundó Kool & the Gang en Jersey City, en 1964, junto a su hermano Robert «Kool» Bell, Dennis «D.T.» Thomas, Robert «Spike» Mickens, Charles Smith, George Brown y Ricky West.
Bell ejerció en Kool & the Gang de compositor, productor, arreglista, cantante y saxofonista. Estuvo detrás de éxitos como “Celebration”, “Jungle Boogie” o “Cherish”. El último álbum de Kool & the Gang fue el navideño Kool for the Holidays, de 2013.
