El 1 de julio se publicará “Crossroads Revisited. Selections from Crossroads Guitar Festivals”, un triple CD con lo mejor del festival de guitarra “Crossroads” fundado por Eric Clapton.
“Crossroads” es un evento de carácter benéfico que Clapton lleva celebrando desde el año 2004 y para el que ha contado con la colaboración de artistas como Jeff Beck, Gary Clark Jr., Robert Cray, Billy F Gibbons, Vince Gill, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, JJ Cale, Steve Winwood, John Mayer, Carlos Santana, Joe Walsh, Ronnie Wood o Jimmie Vaughn.
El festival de Crossroads recauda fondos para un centro que Clapton fundó en 1998 con el fin de ayudar a personas con problemas de adicción al alcohol y las drogas.
Las diferentes ediciones del festival se publicaron en DVD y ahora se podrán adquirir por primera vez un resumen en CD. El disco contiene 41 canciones y su duración alcanza las 4 horas. Clapton interpreta clásicos de su repertorio como ‘Layla’ y versiones como ‘Isn’t It A Pity’ de George Harrison. Pero lo más destacado son las colaboraciones con otros músicos, tanto en la interpretación de temas propios como ajenos.
