El periodo de mayor éxito comercial de Arteha Franklin, tras sus etapas en Columbia y Atlantic, corresponde a sus años en Arista Records, entre 1980 y 1998. Arista/Legacy publicará el 31 de enero el primer recopilatorio centrado en este periodo, “Knew You Were Waiting: The Best Of Aretha Franklin 1980 -1998”. El disco, disponible en CD y descarga, incluirá, además de los grandes éxtios de Aretha, sus dúos junto a Eurythmics, Elton John, Whitney Houston, George Michael y George Benson y las colaboraciones con Keith Richards y Clarence Clemons.
