Verve Records, el sello original de The Velvet Underground, anuncia el álbum de tributo I’ll be your mirror: A tribute to the Velvet Underground & Nico, el cual verá la luz el 24 de septiembre y contará con la participación de artistas como Iggy Pop & Matt Sweeney, St. Vincent & Thomas Barlett, Sharon Van Etten y Angel Olsen, entre otros.
El lanzamiento de 1967 The Velvet Underground & Nico, el álbum debut de Velvet Underground con su icónica portada diseñada por Andy Warhol, fue un acontecimiento clave que dio inicio a un proceso de estética que continúa hasta el día de hoy. El disco, por sí solo, redefinió los límites de lo que el rock & roll podía lograr y expresar, inventando la noción misma del rock alternativo y sentando las bases para el punk, el grunge y todos los movimientos undergrounds a seguir.
El primer adelanto es el vídeo de “Run run run” en versión de Kurt Vile & The Violators.
